It was a great Sunday at SLW today!! The Spirit of God was moving as we launched our new sermon series: Not so…Modern Family. Here are few reflections:
- Great to be back with the SLW family in the new year.
- I never grow tired of gathering as the Church to worship the King of kings.
- Love the spirit of love and expectancy that continues to mark the SLW Church family.
- Love the platform displays to help facilitate the series. Thanks, Vaughns. You guys rock!!
- Thanks to the SLW’ers for making room for others at the 11:00 worship gathering. Packing out the house!
- Here are a few highlights from the message today:
:: “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” [Joshua 24:15]
:: Wherever you are, God can use you for good…especially in your family.
:: What we do matters now, for others and for generations to come.
:: “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” [Genesis 50:19-20]
:: We will never be truly happy apart from holiness.
:: God isn't as concerned about our happiness as he is about our holiness.
:: Scripture is clear that it is within the family that spiritual truths are to be lived out, taught, and passed on.
:: What would it look like for you to influence your family toward God this week?
:: “We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done…so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.” [Psalm 78:4,6]
- Can’t wait to see how God is going to use this series to bring reconciliation, healing and hope among our families.
